SlideScreen is a clever home-replacement application for the Droid X and Android. What it does is capture all your information and presents it to you right on your homescreen. This includes your text messages, appointments, email, RSS feeds, Twitter and Facebook status messages, and more. Many of these items are available right within the SlideScreen interface, so an RSS reader item can be viewed without leaving SlideScreen at all. If you want to interact further with your information, you can always double tap to launch the right app for each datum.
Since there’s so much information presented at any give time (all of it is automatically refreshed too), SlideScreen offers a sliding window that magnifies whatever is underneath it – be it a Facebook message or an email. The interface can seem a little contrived at first but you’ll soon begin to appreciate the ability to soak up so much information without lifting a finger.
