Sherpa for the Droid X and Android is a local recommendation engine that learns your preferences as you go. Sherpa automatically discovers local events, businesses, and restaurants based on your current location. You can indicate your preferences for specific points-of-interest by rating them up or down, and Sherpa will then try to adjust its recommendations based on these preferences. It gets better and better as you continue to use it. It can discover places over a very wide variety of categories, including banks, bars, grocery stores, movies, and much more.

With integrated maps, search, and an innovative interface, Sherpa stands well above other apps that offer local recommendations. You can see recommendations as a carousal interface, on a map, or through a simple list view. You can sort these places by distance from your current location as well. Overall, this is an excellent app that will make most of your other similar apps quite redundant on your Droid X.
