Asphalt is a racing game for the Droid X and Android. With high-quality graphics and attention to game physics, this is one of the best games in this genre on Android. The game offers a good selection of tracks and cars, ranging from smaller Fords to powerful Lamborghinis. Surrounding scenery is quite realistic and reflections on the vehicles are done very well to make an excellent overall racing experience.
The game controls are very intuitive and make use of the tilt-to-steer functionality to good effect. You can set how you want to control braking and acceleration. You can also vary the sensitivity of the tilt-steering and it helps if you tune down a bit. The gameplay is just challenging enough to make you keep trying “one more time”. Artificial intelligence is quite good, but there’s no setting to fine-tune this. Overall, this is a top-notch game for the Droid X and raises the bar for high-quality graphics and gameplay in this genre.
